Investors can participate in a company that generates financial returns and addresses societal and environmental challenges.
How does this differ from traditional investing?
Traditional investing targets financial returns without any, or minimal, consideration for environmental, social or government factors, or their effects.
How do we make a positive social impact?
By addressing the challenges facing the delivery of specialist UK social housing where users live in institutional settings or homes are no longer fit for purpose. The homes that we create are well located and specifically adapted, enabling users to live socially inclusive and independent lives. Specially adapted homes can include the Installation of wet rooms, track-hoist systems, widening doors and provision of ramps for wheelchair access
How do we measure our impact?
By the number of places that we create. In supported housing we acquire, re-develop and typically create 3-8 places in short timescales. Extra care developments typically provide 60+ places for people over the age of 55. Delivery takes longer due to the time required to meet planning and build.
What is the Social Stock Exchange?
Europes only regulated exchange dedicated to businesses and investors seeking to achieve a positive social and environmental impact through their activities. To join, a company must pass a stringent validation process and produce an annual report outlining the measurable and beneficial impact made.
